A Study on the Commercialization of folk custom Events in Korea

Abstract
This study tried to develop folk custom events as a tourism goods of nation-wide folk customs in Korea. The folk custom event is an important tourism resources that can easily disappear and a social tourism resources that express customs and manners about the country. But until this time in Korea, it is true that our folk Customs are disappeared by gradually and can not have the values as tourism goods, because only to develop "tourism site" or "tourism facilities development". So this study tried to seek several alternatives as follows in this manners, to commercialize folk custom events. First, folk custom events in nation-wide should be specialized by regions and seasons to scatter the events during the whole years and to commercialize as tourism goods. Second, the tour routes at present should be linked with the route that centered by folk custom events. Third, the national authorities should be increased their supports to develop domatic tourism and international tourism through budget planning. Fourth, the marketing structures and systems should be established in national level and regional levels to specialize the folk custom events in region and to promote tourist demands.
